LATEST NEWS

Yalkin Spanish Horses has moved to Monarto, between Mount Barker & Murray Bridge. It is an area with a mediterrenean climate very similar to southern Spain.

YSH is the home of Australis Romanzo. The owner & caretaker of this special horse is Tiffany Ayres, whose interest in the breed started whilst living in Perth as a horse mad but horse-less schoolgirl. It was her dream to own a horse and following her first visit to El Caballo Blanco, the original home of the Spanish Andalusian horses in Australia, she knew what she wanted. A bay Andalusian Stallion.
Many years later the dream started to become reality when she bred Yalkin Rialto. A bay half Andalusian gelding, not quite the full dream, but close, was to become a Tiffany's talented partner for all her equestrian interests - competition dressage, classical dressage, Doma Vaquera, hacking, show jumping, cross country, stock work, elegance in side saddle, on a lead or under saddle in breed classes or a pleasure ride through the countryside, from flag bearer at the annual El Rocio Festival, solo or as a group performer in displays and street parades, Rialto did it with style. His versatility, beauty, trainability and temperament were a credit to his breeding.
In 1998 Tiffany was able to fulfill her ultimate dream, she purchased a young bay colt - Australis Romanzo. As with Rialto the Spanish heritage and breed characteristics of the Andalusian horse have been respected and preserved in the riding and training methods used in the education of this magic horse.

Yalkin Spanish Horses breeding program is entering another year, both with our own mares & to selected outside mares. (Service Agreement) Chime, a rare cremello Arabian mare has recently produced a lovely & popular Spanish/ Arab first cross in a beautiful buckskin colouring. Eligible for registration with not only the Andalusian Horse Association but also the Buckskin & Dilute societies. Also expecting to Romanzo is Rosa, a stunning palomino Welsh D Cob mare, who has always produced dilute coloured foals so will have a good chance of also producing a buckskin foal, also eligible for the same multiple registrations. Romanzo' third mare is Abbie, a bay roan appaloosa, it will be very interesting to see if a coloured parade horse or a solid partbred is the result. In foal to Jerez is Tanaga, an elegant grey Pure Andalusian, Pertina, a big bay Australian Andalusian and Azzi, a very pretty Morgan X Thoroughbred. Go to the Yalkin Mares page for a look at some of these lovely ladies.
